US pork demand will grow more than 10%

After achieving two consecutive years with double-digit growth and closing 2022 with record figures, the demand for pork from the United States in Mexico promises an increase of over 10% during 2023 (derived from the inflationary phenomenon) as well as becoming in the main option on the plate of the Mexican consumer due to the lower supply of chicken, highlighted Gerardo Rodríguez, regional director of the US Meat Export Federation for Mexico, Central America and the Dominican Republic.

The Mexican market has had a stellar performance for US pork for many years, but the results of 2022 were truly remarkable, since it reached a commercial value of 2,034 million dollars, equivalent to 21% more than in 2021, he said.
