Pork sales in China drop by almost 50% for fear of Covid-19, this despite the Chinese New Year

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, last month wholesale purchases of pork in that country stood at 64,000 tons, which represented a contraction of almost 50%, attributed to the Covid outbreaks. -19. This happens despite the festivities corresponding to the Chinese New Year , a season in which demand for this meat has historically increased.
