The new import system aggravated the problems for the industry and there were claims from the UIA

A little over a week has passed since the new Argentine Import System (SIRA) entered into force, which replaced the SIMI, and the problems that the industry has been suffering due to the lack of dollars have worsened. Not only are there no longer any operations that have immediate access to the Free Exchange Market (MULC) , but the payment terms of the vast majority of firms that requested permits to import are 180 days. And as was already happening with some products once the quota established by the Central Bank (BCRA) had been exhausted, SMEs and some medium-sized companies find it an odyssey to obtain financing, from suppliers or banks, in order to carry out the operation.
