SIAP: agri-food imports break record from January to August

Agricultural and agro-industrial imports broke a record during the first eight months of the year, as they reached 28 thousand 837 million dollars, that is, 4 thousand 613 million more than the previous year, according to information from the Agrifood and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP), 57 percent of imports focused on cereals, with 21 percent; oil seeds and fruits, 15 percent; meat, 14 percent, as well as dairy products, eggs and honey, with 7 percent, said the agency dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader).
