Mexico studies agreements to import non-transgenic corn before imminent ban: Sader

Farm groups in the United States have publicly called on their government to challenge Mexico’s decree under the North American trade pact, TMEC, warning of potential billions of dollars in economic damage to both countries. Mexico is studying the possibility of reaching agreements with farmers from the United States, Argentina and Brazil to ensure imports of non-genetically modified yellow corn, reported the Undersecretary of Agriculture, noting that the ban on trnsgenic corn for 2024 would not be changed.
