Mexico sees trade discrimination in US meat labeling plan

The labeling “Profuct of USA” with which the Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) intends to identify meat and poultry products produced in United States territory, may discriminate against the exports of those products. products, warned the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader).

Sader said that he views the measure that was published this Monday with concern, since the “proposal does not consider the nature of integration of producers, ranchers and meat industries in Mexico and the US.”
