Development of beef suppliers in eastern Yucatan

At the national level, the main meat producer is Veracruz, followed by Jalisco and San Luis Potosí. Yucatan is in 23rd place with a production of 33,092.34 tons. Bovine meat is one of the most important foods worldwide, not only because of its high protein value, but also because of its social and economic importance. Worldwide in 2021 the production of bovine meat was 61.2 million tons, according to estimates made by the USDA.

The country that heads the list of main producers is the United States, followed by Brazil and in third place is China. Mexico is located in position number six with a value of 2.11 million tons.
