GCMA rules out catastrophe due to drought, grains without progress and expensive imports will continue

With climate change, the concern in the countryside regarding the lack of water is recurrent.

In 2022, the issue of drought has also generated concern; although as of June the availability of water in dams for agricultural use was 58.7% higher than the 2021 level. True, according to Germán Martínez’s Conagua, Tamaulipas is 38.9% down and Sonora 24.8%, but even so, both entities have 22% of the existing capacity. Sinaloa is at 12%.
