China responds to Brazil that it will resume beef imports in due time

In a meeting held between the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil and the General Administration of Customs of China (Gacc), the authorities of the Brazilian country have offered all the information on the case of atypical BSE registered weeks ago and that led to to the suspension of beef exports to China. “Now, the resumption of sales abroad depends on China. They said they will reopen in due course,” a source who follows the negotiations told the Brazilian media Estadão.

From the Brazilian government they assure that little more can be done to resume exports but they maintain their hopes in the trip that the Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will make to China at the end of this month.
