GENERAL ASPECTS OF THE CATTLE INDUSTRY IN MEXICO.
When referring to the cattle sector, we basically focus on the activity which that deals with the domestication of animals with the purpose of generating food for the consumption of human beings.
In addition, this industry has one of the greatest growths in the livestock sector at a global level.
A large percentage of Mexicos approximately 2 million squared kilometers is devoted to the agriculture and cattle.
The country has around 197 million hectares, of which 58% is occupied by cattle in its different modalities. This means that it is the principal activity in regards to the use of the land.
In the country, mostly bovine, porcine and caprine (among others) cattle, are primarily developed.
In more detail, bovine cattle can be said to be one of the most important industries because of its contribution to the creation of employment, mainly in the production of milk and meat, and the production of sub products for other industries. All of this grants the cattle industry with an essential role in Mexico and the world at large.
